The Oldest House has a checkered past, Allan Pacheco's tours and books delve into into the haunted building's past. On some of Allan's Santa Fe Spirit Walk = people have had some interesting experiences outside of this oblong structure at night.

BACKGROUND----The OLDEST HOUSE is attached to many historic events, it is also linked to all kinds of paranormal activity.

The house is definitely haunted and what inhabits the place is evil entities.

According to lore, and history, the OLDEST HOUSE was where a powerful medicine man lived when the SPANIARDS first arrived.

The cacique was in league with the Dark Powers.

What is fact, when the plumbing goes out at the OLDEST HOUSE and the floors or grounds have been dug up, human bones are found. These finds are not the remnants of a Spansh graveyard, they are Indian bones.

The OLDEST HOUSE stands across the street from the OLDEST CHURCH, during colonial days the area was a settlement for TLAXCAN INDIANS. These Indians were allied to the Spaniards, when the War of 1680 broke out, the Tlaxcan Indian settlement was sneak attacked by Pueblo Indians. The Tlaxcans were slaughtered, the captured were tortured to death by the Pueblo Indians led by Chief Pope.

A lot of bloodshed was centered in and around this house.

After the Bloodless Reconquest of Santa Fe, during Spanish Colonial days of the late 1600s and early 1700's, two Brujas (VOODOO WOMEN) lived in the Oldest House.

These two witches or brujas sold charms and spells. One of there customers JUAN ESPINOZA was unhappy with their wares and confronted the witches inside the OLDEST HOUSE. A knockdown dragout fight ensued. The witches managed to stab JUAN ESPINOZA to death, they decapitated his corpse. His head and body were cursed.

The building is filled with entities, who they are, is not certain. Ghosts in all types of forms have been seen inside and outside this building.

Lore has it that Juap Espinoza's headless ghost is seen in and around the Oldest House- or by the Santa Fe River that runs close by. I part company with this story---in all my investigations---of this haunted building---no headless ghost has showed up. Other things have--- but no decapitated phantom.

As for what year's Juan's murder took place, legend has it-- that it was in the late 1690s to 1704 or from 1711 perhaps 1775. The only thing for certain according to legend is that Juan's murder happened in the month of April…

WHy is there no proof of when this happened? It is a fact they during the carpet bagger days of New Mexico Territory- 1846-1900 specifically during the time when "THE SANTA FE RING" which was a group of criminal businessmen and politicians that ran the TERRITORY OF NEW MEXICO-- that the vast majority of Spanish and Mexican records that dealt with land ownership and historical facts WERE DESTROYED IN FIRES.! These records stored in archive buildings or archive rooms and somehow mysterious fires, that nobody could explain--combusted and consumed property deeds and historical facts.

Another question that is asked on tours-- is if Juan Espinoza was murdered by these two old Voodoo women-- why were these two murderesses not arrested and brought to justice. According to legend==the GOVERNOR or GENERALISIMO of SANTA FE-- did business with the 2 women-- he liked their charms and medicines and looked the other way about the deed that had been done. So did other high ranking Santa fe Spanish politicos. Now that part of the story makes sense-- however there are ghosts that haunt this building-- but so far no ghost missing his head.

A trick of light--- some people think an evil looking thing or demonic face is seen or carved into a rock in the corner pile of rubble. WIth imagination, something can be seen. THey could be right and I could be wrong.

This picture was taken on one of my night tours-at a window looking into the OLDEST HOUSE--this snapshot shows light refractions or ?-- you be the judge. Some people claim that they can see a odd face or head in the window--- The person who took this picture-- on one of m y tours said she saw something in that window…It is of note that the Oldest House was deserted at the time this snapshot was taken.

Some people--when they visit-- this haunted house-- have heart palpitations or feel an evil presence-- While others get creeped out or get a feeling that there are a few entities inside the building. The place effects people differently-- some have no reaction and others do.

WHAT IS FACT---IS IN THE ROOM THAT TESS IS IN--AS WELL AS THE ADJOINING ROOM, BATTERIES HAVE BEEN DRAINED AND DIED INSIDE THESE ROOMS, YET THEY WERE FULLY FUNCTIONAL BEFORE THEY WERE TAKEN INTO THESE SOUTHEAST ROOMS. ON A TOUR-(KATHERINE A PSYCHIC) FELT SOMETHING SINISTER INSIDE THE OLDEST HOUSE----THIS WORLD FAMOUS LANDMARK IS NOT HOME TO THE GHOST OF A FRIENDLY WITCH----

ON another private tour-this OHIO couple felt some bad mojo by the westside area of the OLDEST HOUSE-- It is of note that this window where this couple is at- --beyond it is a room where all kinds of strange things have happened. Batteries being drained, panic attacks, and in that room is where a murder supposedly happened. This couple was not faking it--- this duo was geared into awareness-- and on our tour--they felt some energy. Few tourists have this gift, but this couple did and so did Katherine who is seen exiting a room (ABOVE THIS PHOTO)--in this OLDEST HOUSE ROOM Katherine got a bad feeling. When people do get an ill feeling at the OLDEST HOUSE-it is usually at night.-- It is a fact that all around this house a bloody battle raged in 1680 and those that were captured by the Indians were put to death in a terrible way. I am open minded, but this photo of the broom was taken around the time the Oldest House renters --- a Real Estate company had lost its lease and was moving out. Yes, the photo was taken on one of my tours. but I think it is glass reflection, because other photos taken through a window at the Oldest House or in the Oldest House do not have the sheen or odd gleam to it-- or odd distortion. Of course the Weird beards claim I am %100 wrong and this photo is of something there and that there is no sheen or very little. Furthermore some ghost busterss claim one can not get a photo like this from the window --- they maybe right or then again-- I maybe right? On my tours, paranormal activity has been shot on film and I do confirm it when I have witnessed it or the photo is just too outstanding to question. But I do have to be as strict as possible with photos taken or sent in-- so on this one I put it into my gray basket of PERHAPS-- but I have been wrong before. Yes, there is a lot of paranormal activity in the area where this photo was taken, I am not denying that. IN any case the Oldest House is a haunted area-- on many tours at this place-- cameras have failed or batteries have been drained and orbs or ghosty apparitions have been shot. Telling it like it is--- not everything shot on my tours is paranormal or a ghostly orb, sometimes it is dust or glass scratch or reflection. But sometimes--- the tour does hit pay dirt and somebody or a group of tourists gets a photo of something from the unknown. As far as the OLDEST HOUSE--the place has creeped people out, and maybe I am being too critical of photos taken on my tours or sent into me.
